JJ Grey & Mofro Tore.It.Up.
This was a fantastic show. Great energy from the band & the crowd. The crowd knew the songs & there were some great sing-a-longs. JJ Grey is a very charming southern good ole boy who clearly loves what he does. The band was very tight & with the exception of the keyboard player also looked as though they enjoy what they do. For me the drummer & the sax player were standouts but all of the musicians were great. It was my first time seeing these guys so I don't know what a typical line up consists of, but for this show they had a keyboard player, drummer, saxophone player, trumpeter, bass & of course JJ Grey on guitar piano harmonica & vocals. They came back for 2 encores & did a countdown to a crowd scream that seemed to last forever. I saw someone describe great music as creating a room for the listener to inhabit & these guys did that for sure. They created a space for the crowd to fully inhabit & it was awesome!
